Indigenous STEM Conference

Wednesday, May 17, 2017 and
Thursday, May 18, 2017

The Faculty of Engineering at McMaster University, in partnership with Actua and L.E.A.P., will be hosting two day overnight conference at McMaster University to engage Indigenous adolescents in engineering and science.

The event will feature a wide array of science and engineering based activities. The goal of this conference is to expose youth to the enormous opportunities present in the fields of science and engineering and the tremendous impact that Indigenous youth in particular can have on creating a better future for everyone.

This event is intended for all Indigenous students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8, regardless of proficiency in science or math. Quite simply, it is about having fun and realizing the amazing opportunity that we all have to make a difference. It will teach leadership skills, team-building and of course science and engineering.

In an effort to make this day accessible to everyone, the Faculty of Engineering and Actua have subsidized this event and it will be offered to students completely free of charge

Reminder: Please bring your swimsuit to go swimming in McMaster's Olympic sized pool!
