About Venture

Venture is a summer camp that brings the excitement of engineering to life. Our curriculum develops problem solving skills and engages kids through experiments, hands-on projects, and fun, education-based activities.

Our male and female instructors are role models as people, engineers and as scientists. Our diverse group breaks down stereotypes and shows students that anyone who is passionate about engineering, science and technology can pursue it.

We know it is critical to develop students’ interest in science early on and to keep them interested. Venture’s curriculum does just that.

Why McMaster?

Engineers use science and mathematics to transform matter and energy into useful products. McMaster is recognized for its research-intensive engineering programs; its cross-disciplinary courses that foster an exciting learning environment; its state-of-the-art technologies, computer programs and laboratories; and its proven inquiry-based learning model. Venture Campers have access to all these resources. In addition, they are exposed to practical and theoretical problems, and guided through intriguing projects/activities by expert Faculty members and knowledgeable students. Projects typically represent real-life challenges that face modern society; Venture Campers have an opportunity to see how engineering concepts – and Engineers – can make a positive difference in the world. Celebrating its 26th anniversary, Venture offers students an inquiring environment and a unique opportunity to ask questions, explore problems, test theories and ... have fun!
